A great show from my childhood called 'The Wayne Manifesto' released in 1996-1997. Its super rare and many cult fans believe some of the episodes were burnt in a bushfire around early 2000's.

Anyway, this particular episode is about the main character Wayne following his mother's advice by trying to befriend his bully named Kevin. It all leads to Wayne inviting his bully and his bully's friends over for a Barbeque at his own house.

Wayne is so innocent and naïve that it makes the whole plot very funny, (even for kids show standards, I giggled a few times) and while the episode has this innocent playful tone to it; I couldn't help but to feel the themes were a bit sinister.

Wayne even fantasizes (not sexually, but with innocent naïve optimism, kind of like 'Spongebob Squarepants' lol) about his bully Kevin coming over and being a gentlemen by giving Wayne's mother flowers. Its honestly hilarious how innocent they are making this whole theme in the story.

A cruel twist in the end implied that the mother knew about Kevin's true 'bully' nature all along and wanted him over as a ploy to destroy her husbands prized 'hobby' possessions. Dark stuff, but done with a complete guise of innocence.

It a great show by the way. The main character is a crack up. The actor who plays him actually grew up to be a very successful international television director.   Had a blast from the past watching it.  Check it out.
